Special issue of Carnets de Géologie / Notebooks on Geology, entitled "PaleoParks--The Preservation and Conservation of Fossil Sites World-wide" will be issued on-line in late 2008.

The IPA is a major participant in the upcoming International Geological Congress in Oslo, Norway, 5-14 August 2008 . A PaleoParks Initiative will hold a workshop at this meeting on August 10 from 9:00-14:00 in room A1-5 of the Convention Center. All geologists and paleontologists are invited to attend this workshop. Papers will be presented at the workshop on protected or endangered fossil sites. Contributions are currently being accepted.
